The Latest!

Here's an update of what we have been up to! I need to update more often, but it is always hard to find time! Anyway, here are some of the things we have done lately....

On the 4th, we went to a rodeo with our office. It was fun and nice to have an afternoon off work. Dixon and I went to dinner before, and were able to catch a glimpse of some fireworks on our way home!

We have also had the chance to go to a couple more baseball games! Monitronics - the company who monitors our systems - was super nice and paid for our whole office to go to a ball game! When we went to the game, we went early to watch batting practice (of course)! Well, Dixon brought his mit because he always has wanted to catch a ball during a game. During batting practice, a lot of homeruns are hit - so Dixon was way excited and really hoping to catch a ball. Well, one of the players hit a ball just short of the wall and another player went to pick it up. So Dixon started yelling at the player trying to get his attention to throw him the ball, so I started yelling too! Well, when the guy heard a me screaming at him, he walks over to us and says to Dixon -- I'm going to give you this ball, but only because of her -- HA HA!!! So Dixon got his ball -- but I can always remind him who really got it for him! But he loves his ball! He is so happy he finally has a ball from a major league game!

Yesterday, Dani and Jared (my brother and sister-in-law) came out to visit because Jared had a meeting with Monitronics! It was so fun to have company! They even brought out little Paisley! I had not seen her since we left in April and she has grown so much and is SOOO cute! I absolutely love her! She is such a perfect baby! I had so much fun with Dani. We went to lunch with some of the other wives out here, then went to Hobby Lobby. We got a super fun card making kit -- and made tons of cards that evening! It was so fun to have family here and have a day off work. Next week, Dixon's parents and his sister, Devri, and her husband are coming to visit! I am super excited to see them! Here are some pictures I took of Paisley -- look how cute!!!

I love this picture -- it looks like she is posing, but she is really falling over!!

Thanks Dani for coming to visit and for the super fun day!!! We love you guys!!!

Our New Toy!!

This week has been quite the week! Earlier this week, while Dixon was knocking, he had a gun pulled on him. And to say the least, he was terrified! He is okay, but it really, really, really scared him! I am just so grateful he is okay! But anyway, so he called me (luckily it was my day off work) and told me what happened so I decided to go pick him up and give him some time to relax and get refocused. Well we were on our way home when we passed a Best Buy -- and if you know Dixon, you know his obsession with this store! So he told me he wanted to go in and look around. Well in the store they had a Wii with the new Mario Cart, so we played it for a while and that is when Dixon decided that we do not do enough fun stuff for ourselves! He decided that all we do is work and never reward ourselves. He had been wanting a Wii for a while and that day he finally got so fed up with everything we gave in and bought a Wii!!!
Needless to say, we played it forever that night!!! And we love it!!! And Mario Cart is SO fun! It is probably something we did not need but you have to have some fun sometimes! And this is really the first "fun" thing we have got in a while.
So that is the excitment of our week! Dixon is doing okay since that day, but it definitly made him scared to knock for a while! But he is comfortable again and doing well. And we are definitly having fun with our new toy!

Our Cruise!

Exciting news .... I booked a cruise for Dixon and I!!! It is not until December 13, but I am still super excited! I know it is still 6 months away, but I am so excited I had to let everyone know!! It is a week long mexican riviera cruise -- and I got a killer deal on it! So that is the most exciting news I have lately!
Other than the cruise, not much else is going on. Just same old. And for my nursing girls who've asked -- yes I have been studying!! I am just doing a lot of the pharmacology stuff! I figure that will probably be the toughest part, so that is what I decided to focus on! Oh and congrats to Jennie who just passed her boards!! Lucky you!!! Anyway, we are pretty boring, but we are happy and enjoying life!!!

What we've been up to!

So I finally found a minute to update our blog and let you know what super fun things we have been up to! I do not know how I am so busy all the time, but I need to be better about updating my posts! Hope everyone is doing well and everything is going great! We are doing well here in Dallas. We have been busy, but have been having a good time! Here are some of the fun things we have been able to do over the last few weeks!

A couple weeks ago we took a trip to downtown dallas. We went to the aquarium and to see the JFK memorial stuff. The aquarium was really neat! I have never seen anything like it! I thought it was just going to be a lot of fish tanks, which there was some, but they also had animals ! There were lots of fun things to see, like manatees, penguins, crocodiles, sting rays and SHARKS! The sharks were my favorite! The shark tank was one you can walk through and it was really neat to watch them swim over your head!

The JKF stuff was also really interesting! It was really neat to learn about everything that happened and actually be at a place where something that crazy happened! Here's a picture of us at the grassy knoll!

Dallas also has really neat architecture -- as you can see in the pictures. Downtown Dallas was a really great experience!

Last weekend, we were able to make it to a Texas Rangers game! The stadium was really neat and HUGE! Baseball stadiums are always fun to visit!

The new Dallas Cowboy's stadium is being built adjacent to the ballpark and it is definitly a site to see! It was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen! You can't really tell from the picture, but it is HUGE! It looked like a spaceship! I thought the ballpark was big at first -- but it was tiny compared to this! I guess everything really is bigger in Texas!!! It was really fun to see it being built, I just wish we were here when it was finished -- it would be so neat to go to a game in a stadium like this!

Here is us at the ball game! Look how big the stadium is!

Our seats were really fun! We got to sit right next to the Rangers bullpen! It was so fun to see the players that close and watch them warm up! It was so neat to watch the pitchers! A 90 mph fast ball is incredible from 5 feet away!

So that basically sums up our last couple week! Dixon's been doing well selling and I have been having a ball in the office! Nothing too exciting except day-to-day life! We are doing well and having a lot of fun! And I'll try to be better about posting more than once a month!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all those mom's out there -- and in particular, my own wonderful Mom, Mother-in-law and Grandmother!!! They are the best! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family! I could not ask for more amazing women around me! They are such great examples to me; and I hope someday I can be as great as them! They always do so much for me and I am so grateful for it! I do not always thank them enough for all they do, but I want them to know how much I appreciate them!
My Mom is so amazing and I am so grateful for all she's ever put up with: my sister and I fighting, driving thousands of miles to and from swim stuff, dance lessons, boyfriends, stress with school and work, and so many other things which are to numerous to name! My mom did everything for me and never complained about it! And I am so grateful to her!
I am so lucky to have married into such an amazing family and have such a great mother-in-law who has accepted me as one of her own daughters! She has already put up with so much from me! I am so lucky!
And of course, my grandma who was always there for me! Thanks for always tending us and being so much fun! Thanks gram for being such a great influence in my life! To all my mom's thank you so much for everything! I hope you have the most wonderful day today and know how much I love and appreciate you all! You guys are the best!!!

DALLAS!!!

Welcome everyone to my super cool new blog! I have been wanting to create one for a while now, but have been too busy, so I am excited that I finally got a second! It is so nice to be done with school and have a few minutes each day to myself! Well, last week, Dixon and I moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth to sell security systems for the summer! We actually live in Mansfield which is about 30 minutes south of Ft. Worth. It is very green and very pretty here! We are really looking forward to getting some time to get out and see the city! We have not had time yet to do anything, except work, but we are lookingforward to seeing the sites of the city. I am working in the office and have been super busy with that! Dixon is doing well and seems to be enjoying his work! I have not even had a chance to leave the apartment complex yet since I have been working so much, but our apartments are super nice! Our apartments came totally furnished (even decorated!!) so the move was really easy! There are lots of other wives out here so it will be fun to get to know them! We are really enjoying ourselves and are excited to start enjoying new experiences!
